Have A Question?
Lets See if We've Answered It

What can I expect from my first appointment?

Upon arrival, you will need to complete a registration form with your details, GP details and private health insurance information and your consent for us to treat you at S2physiotherapy.

The initial consultation includes comprehensive physiotherapy assessment where you can tell us your main problems and symptoms along with medical history, any medications and tests and treatments to date. A physical assessment will be undertaken to determine the accurate diagnosis.  The physiotherapist will then discuss with you an appropriate treatment plan.

No person or condition is the same. We aim to develop unique treatment plan that suits your personal needs, maximize rate of recovery and reduce the likelihood of recurrence. The physiotherapist along with you may modify treatment plan as your condition progresses. The initial assessment includes treatment and will last up to 45 minutes. The physiotherapist may suggest a number of follow up appointments to resolve your symptoms. The subsequent treatment sessions last up to 30 minutes.

You may be expected to remove outer layers of clothing so that your condition can be fully assessed. Your dignity will be maintained at all times.

Depending on the diagnosis, we will discuss the root cause of your condition and treatment options. You may be treated with combination of treatments including manual therapy, exercise prescription or rehabilitation and appropriate advice. We also use acupuncture and electrotherapy to achieve best results. Every opportunity will be given to you to ask about your condition and advice on future management.
